Each district
maintains an Teacher Welfare Committee (TWC) consisting of
representatives from each school within their district. The TWC considers information regarding remuneration and working conditions for
teachers in their district, addressing grievances, and issues such as
instructional hours, maternity leave and collective agreement
negotiation. The term of the TWC is for the duration of the negotiation
of the Collective Agreement. Meetings occur on a semi-monthly basis
during the school year.
