A new school year = new students, new staff, new adventures! Oh to be a fortune teller with a crystal ball to learn what might lay ahead for teachers in Alberta! The report of the Taskforce on Teaching Excellence, the work of C2 committees, and the work of EPC committees will continue to be focuses for our association.
During ATA Summer Conference our local delegates worked on the goals developed at our strategic planning retreat. Our Local Executive looks forward to working with our Council of School Representatives (CSR) to bring forward and discuss educational issues that matter to you and affect the students in your classroom.
What can you do? How can you support our profession? Simple, become informed on the issues by reading The ATA News and by visiting our Provincial Association's website, Www.teachers.ab.ca. The work of our local's PD Committee, EPC Committees, Local Political Engagement Committee, DEHR Committee and our Council of School Reps depends on the teachers of YMM. We can't do it alone- we are part of the team!
My crystal ball predicts a year of celebrations and challenges doing what we love, loving what we do!
All the best
